The work is performed at designated sites of The Naval Surface Warfare Center Dahlgren Division (NSWCDD). The Naval Surface Warfare Center Dahlgren Division, Dahlgren Laboratory is a premier research and development center that serves as a specialty site for weapon system integration. This position is being posted in anticipation of a bid award, where CIPS is aiming to meet the IT operational needs of the NSWCDD.

POSITION/TITLE:  Senior Systems Programmer (Oracle)

POSITION'S HOURS/SHIFT: 40 hours, M-F between the hours of 7AM-5:30 PM

LOCATION: Dahlgren, VA

REPORTS TO:  Project Manager

POSITION SUMMARY:
Computer Integration & Programming Solutions Corp. (CIPS), located in Bethesda, MD is seeking Senior level Oracle System Programmer to provide database management support for NSWCDD utilizing commercially available database software packages to create and maintain database applications based on government determined requirements

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
Provide database management support utilizing Oracle Relational Data Base Management System (RDBMS) and Microsoft Structured Query Language (SQL)
Perform analysis, design, development, testing and implementation of applications utilizing relational database administration tools and expertise based on government determined requirements
Provide technical expertise and direction in database technology to all areas of Information Systems including schema design, database hardware and software design.
Monitor standard and procedures, access methods, access time, device allocation, validation checks, organization, protection and security, documentation and system integration efforts.
Performing tuning, monitoring, security, upgrades of database system
Works in coordination with System Administrator and other staff to conduct software installation as well as migrating existing databases to different hardware platforms and operating systems
Understand and keep informed of new and existing database management techniques.

QUALIFICATIONS:
Experience and Competencies:
Demonstrated knowledge of Oracle Relational Data Base Management System (RDBMS) and Microsoft Structured Query Language (SQL)
Six (6) years of experience with Oracle as a Data Base Administrator (DBA)
Hands on experience with performance tuning utilities for ORACLE
Understand internals of technology and how it relates to other technologies within the business.


EDUCATION:
Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science/Software/Information technology/Information Science related discipline is preferred or any other equivalent education and experience may be substituted

CERTIFICATES AND LICENSES REQUIRED:
DoD Directive 8570 IAT level 2 or higher

Secret
