Certified 8(a) Sole Source Ordering
SBA Certified 8(a) Case #106649
8(a) SDB Graduation: February 21, 2010
Federal government agencies can streamline the procurement process by awarding "8(a) only" sole source or competitive contracts less than $3 million directly to certified SBA 8(a) companies such as CIPS. CIPS submits proposal responses to agency-issued RFPs or RFQs. For awards less than $100,000, the agency sends a copy of the purchase order to SBA, which then signs the contract based on CIPS standing as 8(a) contractor. If the agency is one of 25 that have a memorandum of understanding/partnership with the SBA, the agency would sign the contract for SBA and send a copy of the signed contract to SBA. For awards greater than $100,000 but less than $3 million, SBA sends an acceptance letter to agency.
Government agencies and prime contractors can receive government small business credits by choosing to do business with CIPS under certified 8(a) Sole source acquisition process.
