Support for Next Generation Information Web

Scope of Work: Contributed to designing Cellular Hierarchical Information Modeling Environment (CHIME), a distributed object framework for a next generation information web and implementing distributed mobile-agent software system (Java and Java extensions-JDBC, JNDI, JDMK, JMF, Java3D). Evaluated and recommended tools for development such as Probe, Jbuilder, Forte4J, and Java Dynamic Management Kit.

Research Development Environment
Deployed and maintained team-oriented Java development environment and provided support for Solaris, Linux, and IRIX development and test platforms.

Results: CIPS contributed significantly to the body of knowledge and expertise on the subject. Personnel provide a blend of advanced research skills that complement the capabilities of Prime and other contractors for the lab's mission. CIPS staff wrote and presented papers at national conferences and presented work results to DoD research organizations.
