Scope of Work: CIPS is supporting heterogeneous environments such as Sun Microsystems Solaris, Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL)/ Fedora/Finch Linux, SGI Irix, Compaq Tru64, and Mac OSX. CIPS provides both the implementation and administration support for typical operating systems servers, workstations, and laptops. CIPS installs and configures network scanner software, firewall security and intrusion detection software and monitors server access for authentication and security; CIPS provides Directory Services application support such as Kerberos, LDAP, and PAM-SMB. CIPS hardware support includes Sun Microsystems Enterprise servers in Clustered environment. CIPS is providing support to the NIAID Rocky Mountain Lab (RML), Hamilton , Montana help desk environment serving a scientific community of researchers on the site.

Results: Improve server and desktop administration support; provide security intrusion virus detection and recovery.
